Mission Statement

The mission of the RESPECT Program is to provide real-life education and training for young adults who are preparing to leave small, rural communities to attend college or work in an urban environment. Our goal is to empower them to make well-informed decisions to avoid dangerous, life-changing pitfalls or when faced with at-risk behaviors.

The following people/organizations will provide scholarships to senior boys or girls who actively participate in the RESPECT Program, and who complete and submit the scholarship application and go through an interview process: Ted and Janice Barela ($500.00), Leadership Council of Associated Contractors ($500.00), Joseph O’Keefe Memorial Scholarship ($500.00), Patricia Bollinger ($500.00). Also through the application process, the Zamora Family will provide the Anne Marie Zamora Memorial Scholarship ($1,000.00) to an Estancia High School nursing student. All of these scholarships are paid directly to the selected students upon both the successful completion of the first semester of college/trade school and enrollment for the second semester. Unofficial transcript and second semester schedule of classes must be supplied to Janice Barela prior to receiving scholarship payment.
